Medium Skin Tone Dolls Again Available!

We are pleased to announce
that dolls with Medium Skin Tone are again available.
Earlier this year, the inventory of medium vinyl
had been depleted at our supplier and we had experienced significant delays in obtaining this product.

Those supply issues have been resolved and
once again, we are able to create your special doll
in a Medium Skin Tone!

Just look at the charming toddler
who showed up in our garden this week.
This doll was created with the Guppy expression.
Her face is framed by waves of dark brown hair.
How can you resist those chocolate brown eyes?

Extra Light, Light and Medium Skin Tones are available for creating your special doll.
Sample dolls are shown in the photo below:
Top:  Extra Light (Very fair, pink)
                          Middle:  Light (Suntan)
                          Bottom:  Medium (Soft Brown)

Send Doll in the Looking Glass a photo
of your cherished baby or toddler
and we will create a doll that resembles your child.

Until next time, live and love well.

Where the Boys Are

February is the month of love.
Wouldn't this wide-eyed fellow be the perfect choice
to cuddle as your Valentine?

Doll in the Looking Glass creates boy dolls too.

We are featuring Dress-Up Bailey
one of our toddler dolls that you can customize
with the clothing of your choice.
Today this handsome lad sports a blue sweater
that highlights the color of his eyes.

But he doesn't like to wear his shoes and socks.

So he can wiggle his toes

Oh, my!  Now he took off all his clothes.
This will give you a chance to see the Nimbles body style.
This body style features more cloth on the arms and legs
which makes him all the more softer and hugable.

Doll in the Looking Glass doll boutique is the place
Where the Boys Are.

Where The Boys Are

Signature Song of Connie Francis
Written by Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield

Where the boys are, someone waits for me
A smilin' face, a warm embrace, two arms to hold me tenderly
Where the boys are, my true love will be
He's walkin' down some street in town and I know he's lookin' there for me

In the crowd of a million people
I'll find my valentine
And then I'll climb to the highest steeple
And tell the world he's mine

Till he holds me I wait impatiently
Where the boys are, where the boys are
Where the boys are, someone waits for me

Till he holds me I wait impatiently
Where the boys are, where the boys are
Where the boys are, someone waits for me

Until next time, live and love well.

The sweet toddler in the aqua dress is one of our Dress-Up Toddlers.

Her shoulder length Blond hair has soft curls on the ends.
She is dressed in a Victorian inspired ruffles and lace dress for this photo
but there are lots of other clothing choices available in our boutique.

The baby dressed in ivory lace is one of our ready to love baby dolls that look real.
This creation with Auburn hair and Chocolate Brown eyes
is named Cream and Honey.
A special Inner Glow technique gives another level of realism
to her Extra Light skin tone.

Tika in the Spotlight

Tika wanted to stop over and meet
all of the friends who visit
the Doll in the Looking Glass blog.

Tika is a lovely toddler
with Ocean Green eyes and Chestnut Brown hair.
Her hair is pulled back and falls in a cascade of wavy curls.

Like every little girl, she loves to play dress-up!
For her visit, she picked out a couple of favorite outfits
to model for you.

She looks picture perfect for dress-up occasions
wearing a pastel yellow crystal-organza dress
that is trimmed with white beading lace.

Tika can also be ready for play
in a casual brown corduroy jumper
with a giraffe applique on the front.
The outfit has a coordinating turtle-neck shirt
that repeats the markings found on the giraffe applique.

Tika is one of the Dress-Up Toddlers
available through Doll in the Looking Glass,
a custom doll boutique.

Purchase Tika
-- or any of the other Dress-Up Toddler dolls --
and choose your favorite clothing outfit
from our current selections to dress your doll.
Your doll will be delivered lovingly dressed
complete with coordinating shoes and socks/tights.

Tika was fond of the color yellow for this photo shoot
but there are lots of clothing selections available.
You  are certain to find a special outfit
to make your doll uniquely yours.

Tika sends her love!

Until next time, live and love well.

Toddlers Who Will Capture Your Heart

Do you have a friend or family member who is a doll collector?  Maybe YOU!?

Is there a special child in your life who would cherish a pretty doll?

Plan now for your upcoming gifting needs.
Valentine's Day, Easter, and Birthdays are perfect occasions for gifting a doll.

New inventory has been added to the Doll in the Looking Glass web site.
Lots of adorable expressions have been added to our Dress-Up Toddlers category.

Here is a preview of our newest expressions.
Visit the Dress-Up Toddlers page at Doll in the Looking Glass for more details.

You may be wondering why these dolls are called Dress-Up Toddlers.
Purchasing one of our Dress-Up Toddlers is a two step process:
  • First, select the facial expression that captures your heart.   We have a variety of eye colors, hair styles and hair colors in stock.  All of these dolls are photographed in a simple t-shirt so the doll's face and hair can be the initial focus.  Once you have found the baby or toddler expression that calls to you, you can move to the next step.
  • Second, (this is the Dress-Up part of the name) check our closet of clothing and choose an outfit that will accent your doll's unique personality.  You may want your doll dressed for a very special occasion and you will find clothing adorned with ruffles and lace.  Or, you may prefer every-day cute clothing styles with a contemporary flair.  You decide!   Your doll will be lovingly dressed and delivered to you.

Until next time -- live and love well,

Baby Dolls That Look Real with Inner Glow

A new technique was introduced in Fall 2010 that brings a new level of realism and results in baby dolls that look real without the high cost associated with a reborn doll.  Inner Glow uses a specially formulated blue dye on the inside of extra-light semi-transparent vinyl.  The result is a natural skin tone that mimics the depth and richness of real skin.  This artistry is available on select expressions.

Doll in the Looking Glass currently has two babies available in our boutique that feature the life-like realism produced by the Inner Glow technique.  Little Miss is a 17-inch preemie and Cream and Honey is 19-inches.

Visit the Doll in the Looking Glass boutique for these and other toddler and baby dolls that look real.

Introducing Bear-ry Holidays

Midland is dark and rainy today and the wind sock outside my window is spinning wildly.  Mother Nature is is giving a not so gentle reminder that the seasons are changing and cold weather preparations should begin. With that thought in mind, we have added a holiday doll to our Doll in the Looking Glass boutique.

Bear-ry Holidays was created using Bailey, one of my personal favorite faces from Apple Valley Dolls.  She has a soulful expression and views the world through hazel eyes.  Light brown hair is styled in a simple bob with multi-color ribbons pulling her hair to one side.  This doll has a fully jointed 22-inch body with a light skin tone.

Bear-ry Holidays is wearing a pink jumper that features colorful applique of bears at play in winter.  This outfit is from a holiday collection of real children's wear.   Here is a close-up of the sweet applique.

Don't you know someone who would love to celebrate the winter season with Bear-ry Holidays?

READY TO LOVE TODDLER

Doll in the Looking Glass has named this collectible doll Lavender Ice inspired by the pale color of her dress.  Dress features pointe d'esprit netting with an embroidered collar accenting the bodice.  Neckline, sleeves and skirt are trimmed with venice lace.  An extra-wide lace on the underskirt enhances the fullness of the dress.

Lavender Ice is a dramatic beauty with Victorian Blue eyes and Dark Brown-Black hair upswept into small ringlets on top.  This specialty doll was created using the Jilly Bean expression from Apple Valley Dolls.  She stands 24 inches tall as a result of her custom made doe-skin body with fully hinged arms and legs.   Additional photos have been posted to our website in the Ready to Love category.
